locality in the Merimbula area, and if

you are looking for more peace and

quiet it is the best place to be.

It boasts a variety of picturesque

walks and white sandy beaches

along with lots of native wildlife,

not found in Merimbula.

Kangaroos and wonderful parrots

visit our homes daily.                             

Watch out for kangaroos everywhere, beautiful parrots, black cockatoos, white sea eagles (which soar past frequently) and blue tongue lizards among the rocks.

This area offers some of the best temperate weather in Australia.

Because it's warmer than Melbourne in winter, cooler in summer, and doesn't have the humidity of Sydney and the north coast of NSW and Queensland.

Surrounded by a National Park, the peace and quiet of Pambula Beach is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Merimbula itself, with a choice of safe, sheltered beaches for the kids and wonderful cliff top walks along the coast and river.

Pambula Beach is the surfing beach

of the Merimbula area and the only beach with a Surf Life-Saving Club, making it so much safer for everyone.

It offers excellent kite & windsurfing, while the protected beach at the

river mouth provides wonderful swimming for the family.

The clean sandy beaches are ideal for a stroll or an energetic jog - keep an eye out for the local dolphins surfing the waves.

If fishing is your sport, catch your lunch in the surf or off the rocks, no more than a few minutes from where you're staying.

Or perhaps jump on a luxury cruiser to take you big game fishing for marlin or tuna. Fishing from the local lakes or Merimbula wharf or bay is excellent.

Merimbula Imlay Lawn Bowling Club is the best on the coast, while the kids can go ten-pin bowling next door.

If golf takes your fancy, the Pambula/Merimbula Golf Club offers 27 challenging and scenic holes, plus the 28th hole is really special!

For the more adventurous, ride from Pambula through the National Park

This area is equal to the best in Australia. During the months of October and November, whales can be seen frolicking with their calves daily, while whale watching trips provide a close-up view.

of the old whalers at the

Eden Killer Whale Museum.

This area is famous for its delicious oysters, and you can also enjoy the fresh fish, prawns and crayfish at local seafood restaurants.

Visit the best ski fields in Australia at Perisher/Blue Cow or Thredbo - a mere two hours from Merimbula/Pambula.

For an interesting and educational side trip, visit Canberra, the National Capital of Australia. On the way see Cooma and the Snowy Mountains Scheme.

Catch the Merimbula Jazz Festival held each year on the Queen's Birthday holiday weekend.

At Pambula Beach – enjoy a chat over a cappuccino at The Broken Oar restaurant & coffee shop while the kids buy an ice cream at the general store next door. For a quick lunch try their take-away. The fish and chips are great.

At Merimbula – a major shopping centre boasting theatres, restaurants, sporting/fishing goods, hairdressers and fabulous shopping – gifts, resort clothing and fashion.
